Canonical employees (e.g. the Ubuntu security team) don't generally put
resources into universe. However, if you or somebody else provides a
patch, then I believe a security update can be issued for it anyway.

Martin Pitt will be back on Monday, so let's check with him then. If he
says no, we'll be happy to do the backport.
