Rejecting libewf

You've licensed the Debian packaging of libewf under the GPL, but that's
incompatible with the OpenSSL licence, and I think also with the
advertising clause in libewf's own licence. Please either choose a
different licence for your packaging (I usually just use the same
licence as upstream to avoid problems) or else add an exception clause
so that the work as a whole is distributable.
The upstream source also ships a spurious COPYING file containing the
GPL, which is inconsistent with the rest of the source. Could you
contact them and get them to clean this up?
Finally, is there a reason that you don't ship a shared library?
Thanks,
