Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
Ubuntu changes were a few critical patches from SVN. New version is a SVN snapshot which includes those patches.

Changelog since current gutsy version 0.5.1-1ubuntu1:

rawstudio (0.5.1+20070601-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream snapshot.
