"Always choose jaunty package except if it is only in intrepid" pretty
much describes it. Packages with a higher version number (those in the
jaunty repository) will always have precedence. As there is no kdvi
package in the jaunty repository, the one from the intrepid repository
will be taken. So there shouldn't be any severe side effects.
