I have made a custom Live CD including a usplash, and I posted the 
details on ubuntu-uk and this seems to be available via google when 
searching for the string:

"[ubuntu-uk] Customising Ubuntu with Reconstructor (version 2.6) and 
Gimp (2.2.13)"
