1) I burnt the 7.04 desktop dvd version.  I selected it because it appeared
the most recent stable release under their download section but i have no
personal preference.  I was intending to install either the regular ubuntu
or kubuntu versions.

2) I use a PC which currently runs winxppro.  The specs are AMD Athlon 64
3500+, 1 gb RAM, nv gf 6600GT video, onboard sound.  If you want more
specific info i can do that.
