dialup modem issue

Modems are still around. There are plenty of people in rural Australia 
using dial-up. Strolling through OfficeWorks the other day I noticed at 
least 2 modem cards in their range. Not 100% sure they weren't 
softmodems though.

Garage sales are a great place to pick up old external modems, and 
usually for only a few dollars. I have an external one in the shed that 
I keep just in case that I picked up for $5 second hand at local 
computer shop.

Any external modem should work I would think. Someone feel free to 
correct me here.
