Subject: re: Driver for printer Canon PIXMA MP520

Hi Fellow Ubuntuans,

After checking for the existance of a driver for above printer (linux
driver), I finally got my printer installed.

It works well in WinXp. But in Dapper no go. When I give the printer
something print in dapper, it will spool a sheet
paper through, but without printing anything.

The driver I got from Canon does not work:
cnijfilter-mp520series-2.80-1.i386.deb

Gdebi says there either a fault in the driver or I need some permission.
(where do you get it ?)

Can anyone enlighten me with this problem. please ?

Greetings
tony

Hi Tony,

We need more specific information to be able to help you. What is the
exact text of the error you are receving?
I had a peek at the Cannon page for the drivers, there is 2 packages you
should download and install:
[1] cnijfilter-common_2.80-1_i386.deb
[2] cnijfilter-mp520series_2.80-1_i386.deb
Did you install both packages with no problems?

Cheers
Mark
