Dear Hamish,
Well, there are a number of apps available. What are the requirements
your customer have and which industry he is from? What size the business
has? What does your customer really need? This questions should be
answered first to be able to evaluate a suitable software package for
him. Because we do not have this information I can just give some
general recommendations, have a look on and make the decisions on your
own.
For ERP and POS I can recommend Openbravo, if your are looking for CRM
solutions, also here Openbravo can be recommended. Further packages are
OpenERP, OpenPro, SugarCRM, vTiger, OFBiz or OpenCRX. Otherwise for
smaller sized businesses may be LemonPOS will be fine. Can be installed
out of the Ubuntu repositories.
Please consider also the support and training for such systems. The
systems do all the same job, but have different layouts and setups.
regards
Ferdinand

I am recommending that a client move his business onto a linux
(ubuntu) platform.
I need to find business applications that run on Linux.
Can someone suggest where I can find suppliers of such apps as:
G/L, Inv, POS, Drs, Crs etc
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hamish
