Firefox has taken over my Directory Tree!

A partial solution is not a complete solution!  Try this one:

In a terminal type: cat .local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

look for a line that reads: inode/directory=firefox.....;

When you are sure that you have found it, make a note of the line number and
then type:

sudo gedit .local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

substitute "nautilus-folder-handler.desktop;"  (without the quotes) after
the = sign

Save and exit.
