google for ubp-build.py, and that is the latest version.

Also on another point trac-0.9 has been requested it builds fine.

That's normal, it just means some dependencies for it are not installed...
dpkg does NOT do dependency resolution. Run apt-get -f install to fix that.

No, it doesn't need to be backported. Only version 0.9.3 is needed, and the
last time I checked 13 is bigger than 3.
