Regarding current freetype1 in Dapper, it needs TDS(TeX Directory
Structure) patch which already in Edgy's one. It means no simple way to
get ttf2pk working with the latex-hangul-ucs package John provided above
because the package uses truetype fonts as base font.

I just did "dpkg-buildpackage" with Edgy's freetype1 1.4pre.20050518-0.3
package to Dapper, then put a line of "map +unttf2pk-dhucs.map" to
/etc/texmf/ttf2pk/ttf2pk.cfg. After that I (and a real latex hangul
user) could read dvi files without problems so please backport freetype1
along with this latex-hangul-ucs package.
