Public bug reported:

Hi there!

Nice to have such a good backports infrastructure!

I would like to request backports of the Redland suite of packages, that is, source packages:
redland redland-bindings rasqal raptor

The packages currently in Dapper segfaulted on me, but I have failed to
reproduce it reliably. Eventually, I got it working, but bumped into
some bugs, chatted a bit with upstream, who said that the dapper
packages where "ancient", and that it is worthwhile following his
releases.

It most certainly is. Redland is one of the best libraries for the
Semantic Web, a field which is in rapid development, and so, there are
ideas and features that are needed, that come in the newer releases.

I tried to backport myself, but I'm apparently not very good at this, so
I failed to build some of the packages. Allthough there aren't a lot of
Semantic Web folks right now, we're picking up speed and Redland
backports could become rather popular. I hope you will try and be better
at it than I am! :-)

Cheers,

Kjetil
