Public bug reported:
Feisty's backuppc package has a nasty bug related to tar which causes it
to produce unnecessary errors with tar. I'm not positive, but its
possible that this could cause backups to not complete successfully.
Here is the thread explaining the issue and the fix:
http://www.mail-archive.com/backuppc-
users at lists.sourceforge.net/msg04348.html
The issue was resolved in backuppc 2.1.3 and 3.0.0
Backporting gutsy's backuppc (3.0.0) resolves the issue.
Tested in prevu and it is successful. Using the 3.0.0 package and so
far it works great.
Note: this also requires libfile-rsyncp-perl to be backported to satisfy
a dependency. I am requesting that as well.
