I also can confirm this on a laptop that previously worked fine with flash,
but I tried gnash and after I went back to flash-nonfree this issue came up. :(
And although both synaptic and the firefox auto plugin installer say
that flash is installed.. it isn't.
As workaround:
Running the flashplayer-installer manually (taken from /var/cache/flashplugin-nonfree/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz)
and entering the installation directory "/usr/lib/firefox" seems to install it correctly for Firefox.
