OK, ran into a problem.  Can't use emacs or ^D to exit a shell because
VNC is trapping the hotkeys even when the cursor is blue and the focus
is on the remote system.

Did you apply all of the fixes for Vinagre and libgtk-vnc?  I haven't
pulled your sources, just your binaries.
