There is an openmrs deb file available here:
http://openmrs.org/wiki/Prereleases#OpenMRS_1.5.0_RC2
The source for the deb is here: http://dev.openmrs.org/browser/openmrs-
contrib/install/packagemanagers/deb
Can we get that included in an ubuntu repository somewhere? Or should
we wait until the final release of openmrs? It would be neet to have it
in before Karmic, but OpenMRS 1.5 GA probably won't be out by then. Is
it easier/quicker to update the repo to the GA if the RC is in there
already?

OpenMRS is a free, open-source program.
We currently have a commonly used plugin, which utilizes Microsoft's InfoPath program for data entry (and needless to say requires a license); otherwise, all of the resources needed are open source and freely available.
