FYI, I maintain a stable backports repository for PostgreSQL:
https://launchpad.net/~pitti/+archive/postgresql

I promise that this won't ever get crack or untested stuff.

However, it's probably still worthwhile to have an "official" backport,
since other people are going to need this as well. Waiting for
-backporters ack before upload, though.
