Binary package hint: rdiff-backup

1.2.8. is the latest stable version of rdiff-backup (released March 16th
2009), this version is in the Ubuntu repositories from karmic.

The main problem with the older version of rdiff-backup (for example,
which is used in hardy) - it's not compatible with the main stable
version (1.2.8). Therefore, it becomes not possible to backup to the
backup servers with more fresh software.
