Hi Iain,
yes I have planned to test and just done so. The package installs and
the program runs.
I set the status of the report to confiremd.

Reason for the backport:

saint is bioinformatic software, which calculates protein-protein interactions.It should be available on Ubuntu 12.04 for stability reasons which are needed for scientific inverstigations.
