I'm experimenting on this task in c42-backport [https://launchpad.net/~dirk-computer42/+archive/c42-backport-gnome3]
(see also https://bugzilla.computer42.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2360)

I got stuck on "Bug 2376 – unable to build glib / Unmet build dependencies: python:any"
The message in the build log is:

dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies: python:any (>= 2.5)
dpkg-buildpackage: warning: build dependencies/conflicts unsatisfied; aborting
dpkg-buildpackage: warning: (Use -d flag to override.)
******************************************************************************
Build finished at 20130521-1514
FAILED [dpkg-buildpackage died]

Has somebody a hint how to fix / work around this problem?
