Public bug reported:

I don't use Ubuntu myself, so I'm hoping to find someone who can help
update the stale packages currently imported from Debian testing-as-of-
the-time-Ubuntu-released.

Trusty has 3.10.0, which has numerous bugs, some of which are security
issues. I recently released version 3.10.5 with (ONLY) fixes for over
140 bugs since 3.10.0. I believe BFGMiner does qualify for the stable
release "micro release exceptions" rule especially since it has
--unittest and --benchmark options to check against regressions.

Furthermore, most of the code in BFGMiner is in the form of drivers for
specific hardware, which is always growing. So, it may be desirable to
keep the latest version in Ubuntu.

In any case, making the latest available via backports seems like a no-
brainer. :)
