Uploaded the backport, note that due to the versions of golang and lxc present in trusty-backports I had to do the following changes (documented in changelog):
   * Arch-restrict all binaries to i386 amd64 armhf.
     The other architectures require a recent gccgo5 and golang 1.5 to build.
   * Add a versioned build-dependency on trusty-backports' golang.
   * Add a versioned depends for lxd on trusty-backports' lxc.

** Changed in: trusty-backports
       Status: New => Fix Committed

** Summary changed:

- Please backport lxd 0.20-0ubuntu4 (main) from wily
+ Please backport lxd 0.21-0ubuntu3 (main) from xenial

** Description changed:

- Please backport lxd 0.20-0ubuntu4 (main) from wily to trusty.
+ Please backport lxd 0.21-0ubuntu3 (main) from xenial to trusty.

  Reason for the backport:
  ========================
  LXD is a new container manager first introduced in Ubuntu 15.04 with a
  pretty solid release available in Ubuntu 15.10.

  As this is mostly a server feature, we expect most people would like to
  run this on a LTS release, so having it available in 14.04 LTS would be
  great.

  All the needed bits for this (libseccomp, cgmanager, lxc, lxcfs and
  golang) have already been backported.

  Testing:
  ========
  Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

  You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
  $ backportpackage -u ppa:<lp username>/<ppa name> -s wily -d trusty lxd

  * trusty:
  [x] Package builds without modification
  [x] lxd-client-dbgsym installs cleanly and runs
  [x] lxd-tools installs cleanly and runs
  [x] lxd-client installs cleanly and runs
  [x] lxd installs cleanly and runs
  [x] lxd-dbgsym installs cleanly and runs
  [x] lxd-tools-dbgsym installs cleanly and runs

  No reverse dependencies
