Yes, I agree that background start up services are key here.. because over
time we clutter the background startup services..

try with fresh install of all three OS, you will see the differences

My kubuntu used to boot under 60 sec while it was new os.. but after I
installed mysql it tries to start mysqld database while booting (and fails)
thus the boot time has increased to about 1.30 mins (sad huh??)

so try comparing with new installation.
