when connected to your PC, try this following command:
$ lsusb.
This will give the list of USB connected devices in your PC. If you
don't find anything listed there, then try:
$ dmesg | less.
Then try to go through the output trying to see whether your device is
detected. You can post the results of the output of the two commands
here.
