Dear Ajom Mahmud,
As Ashikur bhai has noted, the best option for you is to upgrade your
current installation, rather than installing the new version freshly. To do
that, you can manage to download of an alternate cd from somewhere (not the
default ubuntu iso, but the alternate iso). The alternate iso is available
here : http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/alternative-download . The site
itself tells you how to upgrade your current system. If you are in doubt,
ask further questions. There's another help-yourself way of testing things
out. I love this second method. You can always create a virtual desktop
installing Ubuntu 10.04, and then try upgrading your virtual desktop with
the alternate iso, to see how things actually run. Only when you are
successful and confident, you can upgrade your native ubuntu installation.
That way, you will never hurt your system.
