I contacted Wouter Verhelst who makes the Debian packages for the eID
and he confirmed the problem, but he said this was (according to the
release notes) fixed in the most recent upstream release (2006-07-04)
and that he's working on debian packages based on this new version.

So, we probably better wait for that release to be included in Ubuntu
first.   ;-)
