Hello every one,

I recently joined the Belgian Ubuntu List.
Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Daniel Stasse. I am 51 years old, living around Liege, working
near Hasselt.
My mother tongue is French. I speak English every day from back to 25 years
and I am fluent in Italian as I lived lately 10 years in Italy. Although
working in Flanders, I do not speak Flemish.

I am a computer user since about 25 years, first at work, soon after also at
home. I assembled my current home PC (in 2002), selecting and purchasing all
components. Both work and home PC run the OS MS Windows XP.

I am a Purchase & Outsourcing Manager for a company that has built up a
profound experience in bulk trading, private label solutions, integrated
shop-in-shop concepts and professional retail solutions. This job directs me
to deal with people from all continents, mainly Asia.

I just have installed Kubuntu to my home PC, but struggling at this instant
with Grub for dual boot. I don’t grasp the process to find back Windows
after installation. After, I intend to test an emulator (still to find one)
for running some software only Windows based. For example I have a specific
encyclopedic library (*) of which I am fond of. My intention is to ever more
abandon Microsoft realm and make known Ubuntu-Kubuntu to my acquaintances.

Windows user until now, I recognize that its continuing releases cost
unreasonable money for a private use. OS + Office suite + side expenses
(such Internet Security and all stuff like that, and necessary subscriptions
to updates) amount too high. It is in the sole interest of Microsoft and its
acolyte companies.

I hope to reach my goal with Kubuntu & emulator. With this new experience, I
wish taking some of my free time to promote it to a maximum of private users
and schools. I think particularly to economically disadvantaged people.
Affordable PC and O.S. might interest some if they are told ‘how to
’.

Best regards

Daniel Stasse
