1. No News! All the units released since the Internet accessibility.
Everything is perfect as I planned and told them how it works. It just
works, even ate through the corporate routing without even touching a
setting in IP/DCHP. Out friggin' standing. Units built are burned 3
dagen, then released. Belgacom is also on the game plan now and is
having no problems with new installations. Telenet as well no probs, but
they use a cable router, so there never was an issue within their
framework.
2. BUGS, Dylan and I still have the same old bugs but didn't want to
bother anyone while the coffee mug issue was resolved. LOL
3. I can not keep my Mozilla email checked as a default email. I have to
keep going to edit>preference and put the switch in.
4. Dylans puter I still have to select generic-16 after ESC to grub and
select and it runs perfect. Never got answers on those.
5. For new users joining the email newsletter. After faiting an HP
820CXI printer driver situation, I could never make the printer work on
XP or WIN98. But ran across < I was at work > a pagina that said HP will
ALSO no longer support WIN95/98se/XP driver downloads. This didn't
bother me at first until I had switched the LPT1 from the XP to Ubuntu
Server I use and made one stupid mistake. I forgot to tell Ubuntu to
make it the default printer and it lit up like a Kerstmas tree.
This tells me that the constant support that we have from the Ubuntu
community is stronger than MS/MAC can afford. So this is an advantage in
MY workplace. As we use refurbished machines for sale. But then I also
loose Printers and Scanners unless we get the original Diskettes and
Cd's to copy. I no longer have the ability to support used products on
MS machines. This I will have to ponder. Is MS telling these MFG's that
paid a lot of money per newly designed machines for the code to write
the drivers to nuke the .INF's from their websites. Or do users have to
pay now from sites as Download.com and ETC. Seems to me like MS is
cutting it's own throat!
Linux has a very good position now. I noticed in the last month a lot of
CUPSSYS downloads. It has proved its worth in two days. Nothing wrong
with the printers, it was MS. Great work people.
