My work around for this has been to edit /etc/default/bluetooth. Scroll
to the line that says "HID2HCI_ENABLED=1" and change it to
"HID2HCI_ENABLED=0". save the file and reboot. I don't think just
logging off and back on works. This has been successful for me with a
Logitech Dinovo Edge BT keyboard trackpad, using Hardy 32 bit, Intrepid
32 bit and Intrepid 64 bit. It reconnects the keyboard and trackpad
through reboots without fail a few seconds after the desktop finishes
loading. I don't know if this disables other BT dongles that would be
used to connect your phone. I only use the dongle that came with the
keyboard.
