Public bug reported:
I got Dell XPS laptop with integrated Dell 355 Bluetooth adapter. Bluetooth was working fine until recently - I am not exactly sure which upgrade broken it. I am running Kubuntu Intrepid with the latest packages (yesterday I upgraded to KDE4.2) and
2.6.27-11-generic kernel.
My bluetooth adapter is visible in lsusb:
$ lsusb
Bus 005 Device 010: ID 413c:8126 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 355 Bluetooth
and I got this from dmesg:
$ dmesg | grep Bluetooth
[ 12.193111] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.13
[ 12.193542] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 12.193546] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 12.286201] Bluetooth: Generic Bluetooth USB driver ver 0.3
[ 49.234525] Bluetooth: L2CAP ver 2.11
[ 49.234535] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 49.263707] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[ 49.263727] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[ 49.263732] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.10
[ 49.286626] Bluetooth: SCO (Voice Link) ver 0.6
[ 49.286635] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[ 49.319307] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3
[ 49.319316] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast
but when I start kbluetooth4 it can't see it (when I hover over the
bluetooth icon in the taskbar Name and Address are empty).
Also:
$ hcitool scan
Device is not available: No such device
When I plug in an external USB bluetooth (lsusb shows 'ID 1131:1001
Integrated System Solution Corp. KY-BT100 Bluetooth Adapter') that seems
to work fine, so the problem is only with integrated Dell Bluetooth
adapter.
Any clues on how to make it work?
