 tielie said earlier that  ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle worked for them, but mine
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)
does not work for me.  Standard ubuntu 8.10 install, backports enabled.
