I am on Dell Inspiron 1011, fully updated karmic, same issue. I do have
bluetooth enabled in BIOS, but

 sudo hciconfig hci0 up 
 Can't get device info: No such device

Is that a separate issue? Doing sudo lshw|grep -i blue returns nothing,
as if the interface were not visible at all.
