hey thanks for the update I will try it I salvaged the laptop from the
trash in the shed before it was thrown out so I will test your fixes. it
would be nice to have the laptop usable again if it works. I've seen
heaps of posts on google with people with this same issue but most get
fixed by the manufacturer... this is not the case with kogan though and
I'm not smart enough to know how to fix it. I am starting to wonder if
it  has more to do with the kernel packages and not just bluez but I
have no idea if that is right.
