if you look in the /lib/firmare so there is no ath3k-1.fw, to get one
you must only


git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dwmw2/linux-firmware.git
cd linux-firmware
sudo cp ath3k-1.fw /lib/firmware/
sudo rmmod ath3k
sudo modprobe ath3k 

and your dongel should light up (enjoy the Blue light)

work with ubuntu 12.4
