sudo gedit /etc/firefox/firefoxrc

procure:
FIREFOX_DSP="????"

troque por:
FIREFOX_DSP="aoss"

Feche o navegador que vc está usando, feche o programa de som que vc está
usando e ligue-os novamente. Caso não de certo instale o alsa-oss e tente
novamente.
