hauhauha eu nem sabia o que era um dvd9, pesquisei, pesquisei e acabei
encontrando uma solução, tente instalar  o dvd+rw-tools

sudo apt-get install dvd+rw-tools

reeinicie (ou feche e abra) o k3b (deve funcionar)

version >= 7.0 is required.
