SRU testing opportunities

Hello bugsquaders!
I'm a member of the MOTU SRU team, which means I look after stable release
updates in Universe and Multiverse. When we need to push important fixes and
updates to users of the stable Ubuntu releases we use the -proposed
repository for testing prior to moving packages into the -updates
repository. Anyway, I thought you all might be interested in helping out
with some testing so I've got a list here of the ones we're having a hard
time getting tested (they've been sitting in -proposed for a long time).
Testing involves reading the bug report to find the test case, the specific
steps to follow to reproduce the bug so that we can confirm that it has been
fixed. Note that this needs to be done on the release we are targeting
(could be Dapper, Feisty, Gutsy, or Hardy) though testing in VMs is usually
fine. If there isn't a specific test case in the bug report and you're
unsure of how to reproduce let me know or add a note to the bug report.
* http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187271 sun-java5 in dapper is being
updated so just test normal Java functionality
* http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204221 icedtea-java7 in gutsy has several
bugs being fixed (listed in the description)
* http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199014 pyslide in hardy is missing a
dependency on python-xml. This bug report is very messy but the Test Case at
the top of the description should be clear enough :-)
* http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221973 smstools in hardy removed the
/var/run/smstools folder on shutdown but fails to recreated it at startup
By the way, if you're bored (you know, 'cause we have so few bugs ;-) ), the
current SRUs in -proposed, and hence need testing, can be found at:
http://people.ubuntu.com/~ubuntu-archive/pending-sru.html
You can also find the bugs tagged with "verification-needed":
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.tag=verification-needed
Let me know if you need help or something's unclear. Thanks for any help you
can provide.
-Jordan
