Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnomebaker

Gnomebaker in Herd5 could succssfully burn a CDRW and quick format it,
but since Beta and latest updates as of 2007-04-03, it cannot do either.

Laptop is HP Pavilion dv9297ea
Gnomebaker 0.6.0

Output of blanking a CD (very similar for writing disc):

scsidev: '4,0,0'
scsibus: 4 target: 0 lun: 0
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM
scsidev: 'ATA:4,0,0'
devname: 'ATA'
scsibus: 4 target: 0 lun: 0
wodim: No such file or directory.
Cannot open SCSI driver!
For possible targets try 'wodim --devices' or 'wodim -scanbus'.
For possible transport specifiers try 'wodim dev=help'.
For IDE/ATAPI devices configuration, see the file README.ATAPI.setup from
the wodim documentation.

Output of 'wodim --devices'

andrew at everest:~/Photos$ wodim --devices
Beginning native device scan. This may take a while if devices are busy...
