I am unable to repeat your problem with the original readcd program.

Your problem cannot be evaluated if you do not provide a stack trace
that includes function names.

With the limited features of gdb, you first need to recompile readcd
by calling make COPTX=-g LDOPTX=-g

Be sure to use the latest cdrtools release from cdrecord.berlios.de
