Experiencing this in 8.04.1.  The audio CD copy doesn't work in a normal CD player, but can be read as an audio CD by Rhythmbox 0.11.5.
k3b 1.0.4 has the same problem, I assume it's also using cdrdao.
Tried GnomeBaker 0.6.2 which worked, and the log displays indicates wodim is being used.  The resulting audio CD works in a normal CD player.
