Yup! My point exactly: (1) ubuntu stock kernel bug, (2) custom kernels do not have it (3) it has been like that for ~2 years.
Custom kernels are not such a good idea: (1) effort to recompile each time kernel updates (a strong gentooish aftertaste), (2) lack of timely security updates.
