Hi Scott,

You can try adding the backports repository. More info can be found here: 
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBackports

You can also look at enabling universe and or multiverse. More info on those 
here: http://wiki.ubuntu.com/AddingRepositoriesHowto
