Ok, probably a good idea to open this to some group discussion.
The structure of a site is a very important issue.

Currently our structure looks something like this

home: news updates
community: Link to mailing list, wiki, planet, weblog, chat, news archive
contact: our mission statement

Perhaps we should have something like this

Home: news updates
Community: chat archive, news archive, mailing list
Chat: a java IRC chat applet. (Anybody done this before?)
Planet: group weblog
Blog: our wordpress blog (Free accounts to ubuntu-ca users)
Wiki: points to our ubuntu wiki pages
Forum: we dont have one yet, but need to build this in
Friends: a page with links to other groups that we endorse
About: our mission statements

However I dont really like to have that many links..
But I dont see a much better way to organize it.

Its good to have a pretty flat structure so that everything is
accessable, but if its too flat then you get a million links on the
first page and it gets overwhelming.

Mul it over and get back to me.
Cheers
