system keeps freezing

Hello everyone,

Well i have a good mystery for everyone out there in ubuntu land. I just 
picked up a new intel celeron (R) system with a 40 gig drive and 256 of ram. 
The problem is that every time i  log on between 2 min and 2 hours later my 
system freezes. I have re-installed Ubuntu and I even tried Kubuntu but 
nothing i have tried seems to work. Any suggestions would be a great help.
