I'm a longtime Linux user and OSS community advocate and use multiple
variants of Linux/Unix at home on a daily basis. My wife still uses a
laptop (Dell) running XP Home. (FWIW, she'd prefer not to use a
computer at all) and I can attest to the fact that she experiences NO
crashes, NO random errors or any kind of BSOD's whatsoever. I also
use a Windows box at work and it never crashes either. So be careful
about the use of reverse-FUD, it'll only get you into trouble in the
end. Leave the FUD to the proprietary advocates.
Instead, argue for OSS and Linux use based on it's merits, such as the
FACT that Linux supports more hardware than any other OS out there
today, out of the box. Or that Firefox's base features predate
equivalent IE features by years (ex. tabbed browsing) and that it's
use is being extended daily by the OSS community. etc. etc. etc.
I could go on all day, but I'm sure I'd be preaching to the choir.
Cheers
Bill
