On loading Ubuntu.....Ok, booting the kernel. then comes 
[17179569.184000] ACPI: unable to locate RSDP.  .  .  .  then a whole  
list of "Buffer I/O error on device hdc, logical blocks w/ their 
individual locatiion no.'s When do I type in the command: ACPI=OFF?
