Greetings

With all the Ubuntu Buzz and the creation of Ubuntu Canada, I felt it
mostly appropriate to jump on the band wagon.

Introduction
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Acquired my education in
Pretoria, South Africa and transferred to the USA about a year after
graduating. Worked as a Programmer Analyst for a year. Met a handsome
Canadian, moved to Canada, got married and it is now 7 years later.
(gosh)

I've been using Ubuntu for the past year and a half and absolutely love
it.

Before my current position at the University of Saskatchewan, I was a
systems administrator for a college up north. Due to budget constraints,
we were encouraged to be creative and proved extremely successful in
implementing Linux Servers (Fedora Core) that served the needs for
shared printing and file storage along with access to the internet for
staff and faculty. The endless possibilities of LTSP allowed us to offer
each and every student on campus access to the internet, word
processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, file storage and
printing capacity. In a rural community where high-speed internet was
only just starting to be introduced, the opportunities that were created
for the students were endless. The internet is both an amazing and
powerful resource that truly does open up the world to people, and
embracing the potential of open source for communities, is a pure gift
in my mind.

I am eager to join in the discussions and learn more from others, whilst
hopefully contributing towards the goals of this team.

Regards,
Tanieth
aka Tekchic ;)
