Hello, recently I became the recipient of a ubuntu Install CD (Vs. 5.10)
I am a 75 year old and have been using windows based pc's since 1997.
I need to know if I can install this version of the linux ubuntu as follows.
I have an Iomega 80Gb external hard drive connected to my computer
via usb 2.0. Computer details: asus p4p8oo MB, Pentium4- 2.8, 1 Gb RAM,
120 GB HD, ati radion 9800xt graphics card.
I want to install linux on my external hard drive to try it out and become
more
familiar with it. I have viewed the ubuntu "live CD", but I am afraid to
put the
install CD in my cd rom drive.............
For almost 10 years I could put a windows CD in my drive and it very simply
told me how to in stall the programs and MORE IMPORTANTLY: I had a choice
where I could install that program.
Can I install ubuntu linux on my external hard drive? If yes will I be
asked at some
point where to install the program?
I really appreciate your help, hans douwes, Cobble Hill, B.C.
