Excellent, hope what you found here was helpful....

gtkpod is an iPod utility, not a PDA tool, and so doesn't work with
Evolution (unless you are referrig to the Calendar capabilities on the
iPod? If so, sorry, this is beyond me, hopefully another ubuntu-ca-ite
will know more).

As for fnome-pilot, it is for your PDA (well, for your Pilot/Palm, if
that's the type of PDA you have).

If you are running Gnome (the default Ubuntu windowing environment),
right-click (or context-click) on the menu bar at the top of the screen;
choose "Add to Panel...". This should bring up a dialog of Accessories,
etc.

Scroll down to the "Utilities" section; there should be a "Pilot
Applet" (the icon is sort of swirly dark arrow on a light background).

Select, then click "Add", then "Close".

The swirly dark arrow icon should now be on the top panel (top menu
bar). Click it - this should bring up the gnome-pilot settings dialog.

I won't try to walk you through this dialog in an email, as there is
quite a bit there. You want to match the gnome-pilot settings to your
PDA (serial port or USB, synchronization speed, etc.). There are
resources on wiki.ubuntu.com that may be of more use, this email will
hopefully provide some context to get you started.

Hope this helps,

pww
